This FAQ page is designed for Italian students, Italy enthusiasts, Italians abroad, and anyone simply curious. Here, you'll find quick answers to the most common questions about how to follow the channel, how to use the videos to study, how to enable subtitles, how to search for topics that interest you, and much more. Take a look at the questions below: the answer you're looking for is probably already here, ready for you
.How can I use videos to effectively improve my Italian?
We recommend following a simple three-step ritual: (1) First listen: Watch the video continuously, just to get the general gist. Don't worry if you don't understand everything. (2) Second listen: Rewatch the video with subtitles, pausing at difficult points. You can take notes on new words or expressions and repeat them aloud. (3) Third step: Try to summarize the content in your own words, orally or in writing, perhaps in the comments. For shorter videos, you can also use shadowing: listen to a sentence, pause, and repeat it, imitating the rhythm and intonation. By using videos this way, you practice listening, vocabulary, pronunciation, and active production.
Are there subtitles and transcripts available for the videos?
Italian subtitles are available for most videos, often created and checked manually to ensure the highest possible accuracy. In some cases, you'll also find subtitles in other languages, indicated in the video description. If a video doesn't yet have subtitles or a transcript, it means they're being worked on. You can still enable YouTube's automatic subtitles, but keep in mind that they may contain errors. If you urgently need a transcript for a specific video, you can let us know in the comments.
Can I suggest topics or themes for future videos?
Yes, suggestions from the community are very welcome and often inspire new content. You can suggest topics in three ways: (1) by leaving a comment under a related video, explaining what you'd like to explore more deeply; (2) by responding to polls in the Community section, where I sometimes ask directly what topics you prefer; (3) by using the hashtag indicated in the description (if available) when posting your comment, so I can find requests more easily. When many people ask for the same topic (for example, Italian gestures, regional expressions, or explanations of a movie), I try to prioritize it when scheduling future videos.
Can I share videos or use parts of the material for lessons or projects?
You are free to share videos using the official YouTube link, such as sending it to students, friends, or colleagues, or embedding it in presentations or educational platforms, as long as the video remains linked to the original channel. If you wish to use short excerpts (clips) for lessons, courses, or non-commercial projects, this is generally fine, provided that: (1) you clearly credit the channel name "La cultura italiana che mi piace online!"; (2) you include a link to the original video; and (3) you do not modify the content in a way that distorts its meaning. For commercial uses, complex editing, or translations and reprints of the material, please contact me first using the contact information in the "About" section of the channel.
How do subscriptions, notifications, and video quality management work?
To subscribe to the channel, simply click the "Subscribe" button under any video or on the channel homepage. To receive notifications each time new content is released, activate the bell and choose the "All" option. If you are not receiving notifications, please check your YouTube account and device settings (app notifications). YouTube usually automatically adjusts video quality based on your connection. If the image is blurry, click the gear icon (Settings) in the player and manually select a higher quality, such as 720p or 1080p, if available. This is especially useful when you want to clearly read subtitles or text on the screen.
How are comments moderated and what are the community rules?
Comments are moderated to maintain a respectful and safe environment for everyone. Constructive criticism, questions, and differing opinions are welcome, but personal insults, hate speech, discrimination, spam, or offensive content are not tolerated. Some suspicious words or links may be automatically filtered by YouTube and subject to review. Repeated inappropriate behavior may result in comments being removed and the user being blocked. Please express yourself politely, respect those learning Italian, and remember that the channel's goal is to share culture and language in a positive and inclusive way.
How is my privacy protected when I interact with the channel?
The channel uses only the tools provided by YouTube, so personal data management follows the official YouTube and Google policies. As a creator, We only see your public profile information (e.g., username and comments) and do not have access to your sensitive data. Is the channel suitable for all levels of Italian?
The videos are designed primarily for intermediate students (B1–B2), but much of the content can also be useful to motivated beginners and advanced students. For beginners, I recommend using subtitles, pausing the video frequently, and focusing on key words and cultural context, without trying to understand every detail. For advanced learners, the videos can help build vocabulary, capture cultural nuances, and practice natural Italian listening. In the descriptions, I try to indicate when a video is particularly easy or more challenging, so you can better choose based on your level.

Periodic reports allow you to visualize your results over time and adapt the program to maintain a challenging yet sustainable learning path.
How can I create or choose my personalized program from the various courses?
To create your personalized program, you start with a short online level test and a questionnaire about your goals (study, work, travel, family needs). Based on the results, we propose a combination of programs (for example, ADULTS A1/A2 + TERMINOLOGY B2/C1) and a recommended attendance rate. During a first orientation meeting, our native-speaking tutor will help you choose the lesson format (individual or group) and the type of activities best suited to your learning style. The program is flexible and can be modified at any time.
What types of activities are included in a personalized program (live lessons, exercises, cultural materials)?
Each personalized program combines three main elements: live lessons with native-speaking tutors, interactive exercises, and cultural materials. Live lessons provide guided and safe language practice, with room for questions and immediate corrections. Interactive exercises, available on the platform, allow you to consolidate grammar and vocabulary with short, targeted activities. Cultural materials (videos, articles, podcasts, stories) enrich the context, helping you understand real-world usages, idioms, and cultural differences, thus developing comprehensive language proficiency.
What is the role of a native-speaking tutor within the various courses?
The native-speaking tutor is your guide throughout the program. In addition to leading live lessons, they adapt the program to your needs, select the most suitable materials, and clearly explain even the most complex aspects. They provide constant feedback, encourage active participation, and create a calm and motivating learning environment. The tutor monitors your progress, helps you overcome any obstacles, and suggests practical strategies for using the language in everyday life, study, or work.
How is my progress monitored, and how can I know if I'm improving?
I tuoi progressi vengono monitorati in modo continuo e trasparente.
